legend
In The Elder Scrolls III: Blood Moon DLC, Squall claimed that Draenor were cannibals who were cursed by the Almighty Maker to hunt human flesh for all eternity, commonly referred to as Flesh Eaters.
This is different from the narrative about Draugr in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which claimed that dragon worshipers were granted immortality in rituals to await the dragon's return, and there was no mention of cannibalism.
When Solstheim reappeared in the TES5: Dragonborn version, it contained a variant of Draugr that was fundamentally different from the other variants in Skyrim: similar in appearance to Bloodmoon, with a changed appearance and full of legends of Skaar's bloody-mouthed cannibals. But this new Draugr variant ("Lunky Draugr") only appears in certain levels, and is found in Solstheim and Skyrim.
To address the differences between TES3 and TES5's lore, I made changes to Solstheim's Draugr to make it more like the terrifying Hulking Draugr, with a bleeding mouth, no nostrils, and darkened skin. The red eyes seen in Blood Moon have also been restored. I haven't taken the Skaal lore at face value because I believe the cursed tales from the All-Maker are the moral enforcers of their culture. However, the core of their lore, that the Draugr of Solsheim sustain themselves by preying on and cannibalizing humans, can now be seen in your game.
It's unclear how the Cult of the Dragon in Solsheim became cannibalistic, but we do know that they were largely isolated from their mainland counterparts and developed their own culture. While waiting for the dragons to return, perhaps they were unaware of the methods of immortality used on the continent and developed their own methods, focusing on the consumption of human flesh. Perhaps Solstheim's admirers believed their cannibalistic methods were superior to continental methods. We may never know the exact truth.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
