"After the untimely death of her husband Throki, Brian hastily packed her bags and left her cabin, just outside Riverwood, to live with her children in Cyrodil. She wanted nothing more than to put the past behind her and leave the cabin for anyone to be filled with joy again."
Brynn finds the cabin somewhat chaotic as she receives news of her husband's death and leaves within just a few hours. Two notes detail the events leading up to the abandoned cabin, one a note of condolence from the Empire and the other a scrawled farewell.

The rustic cabin is located within view of Riverwood and has a bridge over the river for easy access. This bridge is just before Riverwood's walls when the Dragonborn travels from Helgen to Riverwood, and has been available since the beginning of the game.
It provides 4 children's beds and chests for those of us who feel sorry for the homeless children but have full faith in Constance Michel's ability to run the orphanage.
The cottage is basically an extension of Drelas' Cottage. Indoors, it has 2 floors and a basement, an alchemy station and a charming table, several chests and various miscellaneous items and books. Outside, it has three child training dummies, a grindstone, a smelter, an armorer's workbench and an anvil.
This isn't the most gorgeous player's home, but it's a good choice for those who want a modest, killer, "realistic" home for their Dragonborn family.
Install
Install the .esp as usual with NMM or similar.
Mac Wineskin
- Place the .esp in the Skyrim Data folder (Desktop -> Skyrim "Show Package Contents" -> drive_c/Program Files/Elder Scrolls V Skyrim/Data).
- Copy the .esp and paste it into the plugins.txt file (Desktop -> Skyrim "Show package contents" -> drive_c /users/Wineskin/Local Settings/Application Data/Skyrim -> Open "plugins.txt" with TextWrangler or similar).
- Make sure it is listed after the Hearthfire DLC.
Non-Steam installation (script extension or similar tool)
Place the .esp file in Pragram Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim/Data and make sure Data files is ticked. Make sure it's after Hearthfire in the load order.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
