About this mod Machine translation
Chainless Butterflies makes butterflies and moths behave more like actual animals rather than basic resource points. They are now free to roam and explore the world with you.
After releasing Butterfly Land Real (only available in Skyrim Special Edition), I realized that the default butterfly behavior is very restrictive. With fewer landing sites, the butterflies can now land on each other. They keep landing on the same flowers. So I dug into the butterfly/moth AI and found that they were stuck near their spawning sites. I fixed this issue and took the liberty of improving the way they select their landing spots.
Requires unofficial Skyrim Legends patch .
change
Butterflies and moths are no longer released to their spawning sites and can move as far as desired. (They still disappear as usual).
Butterflies and moths can now lay eggs four times from their spawning point.
Butterflies and moths are more aware of landing on other butterflies and are less likely to do so.
Butterflies and moths will no longer jump between the same landing spots.
If butterflies/moths cannot find a nearby habitat, they will search further. To reduce the chance of butterflies passing through walls, their search radius is now based on their current location rather than their spawn point.
The butterfly search radius moves in the direction of their movement to encourage them to explore new areas.
Butterflies and moths wait up to 50% longer before flying to another high position.
Butterflies and moths can now land on plants more accurately.
Fixed bug - Butterflies and moths no longer land above harvested potatoes and leeks.

question
Butterflies sometimes fly over walls and solid objects. This is an uncommon side effect of their ability to wander.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
