About this mod Machine translation

Enhanced book interface, adding 3 functions:

1: You can flip through multiple book pages at one time instead of flipping through them one at a time.

2: Add page numbers on each page.

3: Add a nearly full-screen book model to easily create large graphic books, turning your Skyrim casual reading toy into a real e-book reader.

Enhanced book interface, adding 3 functions:

If you're a reader like me who enjoys reading books in Skyrim's beautiful locations and has created some big books to go into the game, then questions will pop up.

When reading a very long novel, you can't possibly finish it in one sitting. The next time you select it, you'll flip through the pages you've already read, complete with a leisurely animation that lasts forever.

This mod will be your final dose of recovery from the madness. With it, you can quickly find where you left off, or browse through some books that don't really interest you. A small number in the lower right corner of each page always reminds you of your location.

And when you want to make and read some complex books with a lot of symbols or illustrations and complex formats, you will find that it is difficult to do this due to the limited functionality of the Skyrim book system, which is usually buggy and unusable.

But now this mod gives you an easier way to perform this task: just print your books or web pages as pictures and put them all into one book, and you'll have colorful, easy-to-read custom books in Skyrim!

Requirements: SKSE 1.7.3

Installation: Just place BookUI+.esp and the 3 folders into the Skyrim\Data folder.

How to use:

Turn the page:

When reading a book, press the Alt or Ctrl key to select how many pages you want to turn. There are 4 levels, 1 (default), 10, 30, and 100

There are great picture books:

1: Prepare the picture file used to create the book. The aspect ratio should be 0.8842 and the resolution should be about 2000. I recommend using some pdf / jpg / png file printers that can print your books or web pages into the same size images. This approach is very effective for creating large books.

2: Create the book in Creation Kit, please check the screenshot I uploaded here for reference, and the sample book in CK.

A: Each image link should be on its own line and no other words should be used other than image link. The image resolution is marked as 415 for width and 470 for height. Actually, the maximum size of a book page is 420 * 475, but saving 5 helps avoid incorrect page splits due to less precise page calculations.

b: The world artwork does not matter, please choose any artwork you like, but the asset artwork should be RG_EsotericBook.nif, it will provide you with a large number of book models to fit your picture.

c: Save your book and drop it into Skyrim, then read it!

Compatibility: Should not conflict with any Mods if they do not overwrite the Interface\book.swf and bookmenu.swf files.

Permissions: If you plan on including this little mod in your own published mods, I feel free to do so with my best intentions. But I would like to express my sincere gratitude for my contribution ~

Credit: Serious reading in Skyrim would be a pain if it weren't for the awesome SKSE and the source files being decompiled and shared by Mardoxx from the SkyUI team, thanks for the great work! Sorry to everyone for my funny English.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
