About this mod Machine translation

This mod adds a bird race to Skyrim, for both PCs and NPCs. The birds have completely new heads and heads (crests, ears, horns, because why not), with full charge and expression morphing. Crown and ears show expression. Birds have claws and feet. Their wings are provided by Anton "Real Flight" and "Animated Dragon Wings".

There is enough variety in these parts to create a wide variety of birds: crows, hawks, songbirds, parrots, Skeksis.

If you choose that option, Clawfeet provides digitized feet using my adaptation of the high heel mechanism. Don't try to put boots on them - the birds will take them off again.

in this version

Ulri (Raven), Eagle, Griffon, Songbird and Talis/vulture games. I didn't do anything fancy with the races, just give them each a different set of perks and abilities so you have something to play with. Matches have presets - but see error list.

Individual digital foot patches. The base mod is plantigrade bird feet so you can wear boots. I think if you wear open toe boots it looks weird. So don't.

New NPC files. Load it up to get a bird follower. Adds a flock of birds of each race in different locations in Skyrim. Recruit them by finding their campsite or waiting for them at the hotel. Most are friendly, so you can ask someone to join you. As with the game, I didn't try to get really creative, but they should be enough minions with a variety of abilities. Each camp has a book that gives you some details about the game and adds camp markers to your map. Some winged birds take up a lot of space, so if you run a mod that adds a bunch of NPCs to the inns, you'll find them very crowded at night.

Ulri - The camp is located on the saddle between the exit of Helgen Cave and the southern gate of Falkreath. They go to the Sleeping Giant Hotel at night.

Eagle - The camp is just southwest of the Thalmor Embassy. Relax in the evening at Winking Skeever.

Griffin - a rocky outcrop camp on the plains between Whiterun and Rorikstead. Evening at Rorikstead Hotel.

Songbird - A camp southwest of Falkreath, facing the mountains. Drink at Dead Man's in the evening.

Tallis - Eastmarch moorland camp south of Kynesgrove. Evening at Braidwood Inn.

Use racemenu settings to make your PC look the way you want. There are some sliders that don't do anything, but most are useful and some of them are intuitive.

wings and flight

Anton made two flight models: animated dragon wings and real flight. Real flight puts you in the air and it's awesome. But instead of the wings reacting to stealth and attack, they fold into a very compact, slightly messy backpack. Animated Dragon Wings have special sneak and attack animations and look great folded, but you can't fly.

So I went with both. By default, NPCs will use animated dragon wings since they can't fly anyway. The PC uses real flying wings and can fly.

In the Body section there is a racemenu slider for wings, all flying wings. You can't see what you get so remember this order:

raptor wings

Banned raptor wings

black raptor wings

gullwing

Gullwing and the Second Birth of Darkness

Gullwing with white tips

The wings will often take on the body color. The mechanic is a bit tricky and you may lose color sometimes.

If you want to try a different set, go back to the racemenu or drink a wing potion. You'll find medicine kits in each flock's camp. There is another box behind the Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood, leaning against a vegetable garden wall. Drink the "Wings: Remove" potion to remove your wings, then another potion to get other wings. If you give a bird minion a potion, they will drink it and gain those …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
