About this mod Machine translation
BestInClass++ is an SKSE plugin for Skyrim Classic. It improves upon the BestInClass feature provided by default in the game by considering more classes and types of armor, weapons, and similar items.
BestInClass++ is a SKSE plugin for Skyrim that improves the display of best items (the diamond next to the item name)
What does BestInClass++ do?
The main feature is to improve the BestInClass feature provided by default in the game, which highlights the best items based on armor class or damage value. By default, the game highlights the best items with a small diamond next to their name, along with enchantments and stolen attributes.
This plugin enhances this functionality by taking into account more categories and types of armor, clothing, weapons and ammunition. It completely replaces the vanilla method and provides a better alternative than what's available in the game. Skyrim considers about 10 types or categories, and this add-on can add up to 24 more. This prevents it from being thrown into the same pot as heavy armor and light armor when comparing optimality. Do the same for different weapon types like daggers, swords, axes, etc.
It supports barter, containers and player inventory. Currently, it also only compares base values, so tempering bonuses and similar values are not taken into account. This is purposeful, but there are alternatives on the roadmap.
Planned features
Version 1.1.0 - Switching from barter or container menu to player inventory - Done!
Version 1.2.0 - Choose between base and modified values via INI configuration - work in progress!
Version 1.3.0 - Support for modification types via keyword lookup and INI configuration - next!
Version 2.0.0 - Special version release
about
Ryan's special version, that madman actually reverse-engineered the necessary parts of my plugin in his CommonLibSSE shortly after releasing the plugin. Nonetheless, for now I'm going to take a short break, after which I'll focus on implementing features planned for the future before porting. I simply don't have the time or energy to maintain two codebases at once, and CC updates make changes in the exe, which makes maintaining the SSE version even more tedious. I might consider making an initial release for SSE until I can get a handle on it.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
