Introduction
There are a lot of great armor mods out there. However, since my character can only equip one set at a time, I found that most of the armor just ended up cluttering my crafting menu rather than improving the gameplay experience. This mod aims to remedy this by making armor added by other mods the default equipment for NPCs.
In order to have maximum compatibility with the NPC Overhaul mod, I avoided direct contact with NPCs as much as possible. This mod works by replacing the generic equipment and level lists that have been assigned to NPCs for use. This means I don't have a complete list of affected NPCs, and it may even affect some NPCs added by mods. If a certain armor combination doesn't look right when it's commonly found by anyone (for example, if the armor is a legendary armor, or it's gender-specific), then I add it instead to another Mod of mine (the NPC's only outfit) that assigns the outfits individually using a script.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
