Additional NPC follower voice types
If you think this mod is very good, remember to go to N website and give it a like.
The author took a different approach. Since it is difficult to modify the NPC, it is better to modify it directly from the voice.
******
His original words:
One thing that bugged me about Skyrim, was that there were many generic NPC voices, but out of many (40-60, I'd wager), you could only recruit around 8, with others being unique voices.
How should I put it? There is a "bug" in this game, that is, there are many voice types of NPCs in the game (I bet there are 40-60 types), but there are only 8 types that can be recruited as followers, and the others are all special voice types.
Now, I changed that. I edited the "NeutralFollowerVoiceTypes" formlist to include a much larger number of voices (31 to be exact), and then added silent.xwm files toavoid that annoying dialogue *Flash* that happens when there are no sounds to accompany an NPC's dialogue.
Now I have modified the voice types, modified the "NeutralFollowerVoiceTypes" formlist in CK, and added a large number of voice types (31, the voice files have been encapsulated into BSA). Then add muted voice files to prevent dialogue options from flashing by when recruiting these followers.
It's just that the dialogue options related to the follower are all silent.
What to do if the favorability of the NPC is not enough? Use the console method.
Select the NPC you want to recruit:
addfac 5c84d 1
addfac 5a1a4 1 (Add follower faction. PlayerAllyFaction and PotentialFollowerFaction)
setrelationshiprank player 3 (Increase favorability: Ally, that is, ally)
setav Confidence 4 (Courage: Never be afraid)
Of course, you may still need these. Sometimes they become extremely important, which will be discussed later:
setav aggression 0 (Aggression: 0 is passive attack, you know. Bandits and the like are 1 active attack, and Heart of Thorns is 2, which is highly aggressive.) (For example, if you recruit Heart of Thorns, if there is no adjustment here, and you dismiss him in the city, it will...)
setav morality 0 (Moral value: set to 0, he will do whatever you ask him to do) (I call a follower to hit someone, but he refuses to hit, then I want to kill that follower)
setav mood 3 (expression value: set to 3, it means happy, very happy, this can be used or not)
setav assistance 1 (Assistance value: Generally the default is 0, no one will help. You are in a difficult battle, and if he is not recruited by you, he will only hide far away from you. Set it to 1 and he may come to help you. It is best not to set it to 2, 2 is to help friends and allies. If you hurt an NPC who is friends with him, he will probably use a weapon to kill you. If you recruited him before, he will terminate the recruitment relationship)
Already integrated into txt file. Just open the console bat follower.
******
Place the txt file in your Skyrim folder (The one where TESV.exe is located)
Please put the txt file in the game directory, not the data folder (when NMM installs this mod, the txt file will be separated separately. So you need to copy the file manually)
In theory, the mod will not conflict with any NPC mods.
If there is a new version of the mod, it will not be a problem to let those NPCs with special voices act as housekeepers, or even get married (but you will definitely be unhappy if the voice is always muted). But when the author released that mod, there was no Hearthfire DLC, so give him a break.
The order of mods is arbitrary. Anyway, there are not many mods that modify the follower sound type formlist.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
