About this mod Machine translation

This mod turns the already creepy vanilla Frost Spider into a traumatic nightmare of legs, saliva, and fangs by replacing the vanilla skeleton with a custom one. Arachnophobes please forgive me for taking the medicine, you need it!

[[[MOD Description]]]

If you're like me and have been disappointed with vanilla frost spiders, then this mod is for you. This mod replaces the vanilla Frostbite Spider skeleton with a new custom skeleton designed to give Skyrim a more traditional Arachnid look, rather than the vanilla jumping spider body plan. Working within the confines of the vanilla web, I adjusted the jaws, limbs, abdomen and made some subtle changes to the spider. The result is a nightmare frost spider that will strike terror into anyone who ventures into the depths of Skyrim. This affects all spiders in Skyrim.

Absolute Arachnophobia uses the vanilla Spider's custom skeleton, and overrides any mods that change the vanilla Frostbite Spider's skeleton. Mods that make radical changes to the vanilla skeleton, such as "Realistic Ragdoll and Force" should be compatible as long as "Absolute Arachnophobia" is installed after these mods and allows its files to be overwritten.

Should be fully compatible with any texture mod, as this mod does not contain its own skeleton-only textures. This also makes it compatible with most other creature models that don't edit vanilla skeletons.

It is recommended to use Mod Manager or your favorite mod manager.

Install Absolute Spider Fear after installing any mod that makes changes to vanilla Frostbite Spiders, and click "Yes to all" when prompted to overwrite any files.

There is no "esp plugin" for this mod.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
