(After decompressing, you can determine what format of files are inside, just follow the instructions below. In addition, there are a few special MODs that do not need to be decompressed, and I will mark them):
How to use:
- Copy all: package suffix format files inside to: My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\ folder
- Copy all the ts4code suffix format files inside to: My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\ folder (script files cannot be placed in multi-layer subdirectories and cannot be read.)
- Copy all the blueprint, bpi, and trayitem format files to: My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Tray file folder
Script module (ts4code suffix format file):
- Check the box to enable the module in the game options (this step is required for the script module to play the simulation series for the first time.)
- Exit the game and then re-enter the game to enjoy the game (this step is required for the script module to play the simulation series for the first time.)
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
