📥 Installation Guide

• Start the game for the first time to generate an archive folder.
• Exit the game completely
• Navigate to the archive directory:

`C:\Users\[your Windows username]\AppData\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight Silksong\[your user ID]`

• Paste the downloaded archive file into this folder
• Reopen the game - new save slots will appear for each boss encounter

🗃️ Archive slot management

The game uses files named user1.dat through user4.dat, each corresponding to a save slot in the game:

**Select the slot where Boss specific files are loaded:**

• Rename the downloaded archive file (e.g. Boss_Nyleth.dat) to the desired slot name, such as user2.dat
• Place it in the save folder - Existing slots will be overwritten when launching the game
• Can switch between slots by renaming the file (e.g. user3.dat → user1.dat)

💡 **IMPORTANT:** Keep a backup of the original file (e.g. user1.dat.bak1) so you can restore it if needed

🔗 Recommended matching modules

It is recommended to download this mod at the same time:

• Respawn in the Boss area after death
• No need to trek from the bench to the boss location
• Please refer to the module page for detailed usage instructions

🛡️ Best Practices

• **Regular Backup Archives**: Copy the entire Silk Song folder to a safe location (e.g. Docs, Dropbox, Google Drive)
• **Cloud Save Note**: If cloud save (Steam or GOG) is enabled, automatic synchronization may overwrite custom Boss slots
• **Easy Switch Configuration**: Separate "Normal Game" and "Boss Practice" settings using different slots (1-4)
• **Accidental Recovery**: If you accidentally overwrite the wrong slot, use the main menu's autosave rollback feature (when available)
