About this mod Author’s original text
A BepInEx (mod loader) plugin for Shadows of Doubt. It cuts the sidejob runaround, not the case.
If it saves you a few goose chases, please leave a like on the mod's page. It keeps me motivated to make more mods. Donations are welcome too:
What you skip (Skip flags, on by default)
- Timed payphone “call this number” chases
- Intro meet-ups (ask staff, sit-down, home, dossier handoff), including staff photo-for-briefcase
- Photo hunts for a hidden briefcase (details, dump clues, and the last-step call land on the board)
Reduce
Not used in this version. Leave those cfg keys as they are. Skip is the only hassle mode until a later release.
What stays
- Finding the person, following leads, mailbox / dump / photo / vandalism / humiliation work, and handing the job in
- Tail and Acquire still uses the vanilla intro so the courier can spawn
- Vandalism / demolition uses Skip like theft. The vandalize step itself stays
- Works next to SideStreet (vials and sync-disk pay). This mod does not change job rewards. If SideStreet is loaded, extra listing traits stay off so SideStreet 0.3.0's one-person clues stay as designed
Extras (on by default)
- A few more listing facts (build, hair, age, and similar) when SideStreet is not loaded. Not name, home, or workplace
- A City Hall-style camera in your hand on Tail / Acquire, or a timed camera-required intro, if you do not already have one. Photo-by-staff and other untimed photo intros: buy one yourself
- Skip still leaves the vanilla target briefing in place (theft, Humiliate, and similar)
- Optional cheat dump: click into a case sticky, then Left Alt plus C (configurable). Writes target name, home, job, and item addresses into that note, plus the number to call on jobs handed in by phone, like Black Market Passwords. Listing Details stays leads only
Tested in play
Theft, stolen-item, vandalism, photograph and humiliation jobs, with phone and door hand-ins. Not yet tested: infidelity jobs, photo jobs where you ask staff, and City Hall or destroy-item hand-ins. Reports are welcome.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
