🎯 Module Introduction
WitchyBND is the successor to **Yabber**, a specialized unpacking/repacking/serialization software for common file formats in FromSoftware's proprietary game engine. Supported games include:
- **Demon's Souls**
- **"Dark Souls 1-3"**
- **"Bloodborne"**
- **"Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice"**
- **"The Ring of Elden"**
- **Armored Core 6**
⚙️ System Requirements
- The game archive needs to be unpacked using UXM Selective Unpacker before it can be processed by WitchyBND
- Can be run directly on Windows 8 or above systems
- For older system versions, .NET Framework 4.6 may need to be installed
- If you encounter unexpected problems or use Wine on Linux, .NET Desktop Runtime 7.0 may be required
🚀 How to use
Shell context menu
The most convenient way to use it is through the right-click menu:
- **Start WitchyBND.exe**
- Select the **"Configure Shell Integration"** option in the configuration interface
- Select the "Register WitchyBND Shell Integration" option
- Once completed, right-click on files and folders in File Explorer to see the WitchyBND menu options
💡 **Tip**: To remove the context menu option, use the **"Unregister WitchyBND Shell Integration"** option, you may need to restart Explorer afterwards.
Basic workflow
- Use tools such as UXM Selective Unpacker to unpack game files
- Find the file you want to extract
- Use the "WitchyBND" option in the right-click menu to process the selected file
- If processing more than 15 files, you may need to use the "Send to..." menu
- You can also drag and drop files onto the WitchyBND executable in the Witchy folder
- If Witchy supports the file format, processing will begin
- To reverse the operation, just use the context menu again
🔧 **Special Feature**: If you only want to remove DCX compression from a DCX archive, use the **(DCX)** option in the context menu.
🔄 Upgrading from Yabber
WitchyBND should be considered a new version of Yabber, with essentially the same functionality, exactly the same purpose, and all original workflows retained.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
