About this mod Machine translation

A small tool for saving game management. Save files can be imported from other users, backed up, restored, set name to backup, deleted and additionally patched to game memory so that all checks on saved games are skipped so it lets you modify save files. Also available on github.

feature:

Automatically determine latest save game on startup

Patched game to skip checksum and SteamID checks on loading, this will allow you to load modified save games (RAM patch only)

(Import External Saved Game) Import a save game from another Steam account to yours, your game settings can be preserved if the destination is given

(Back up stored game) Back up the current stored game

(Set name for selected backup) Set a custom name for the backup

(Restore to selected backup) Delete the current save game and make the selected backup a new backup

(Delete Selected Backups) Delete selected backup form disks

Optional hotkey shortcuts for all functions

Manually select another savegame path to lock/backup

usage:

Launch the utility, select your savegame and make a backup in case the latest backup doesn't fit, launch Sekiro, load the savegame. The patch will affect game memory and will not modify any game files. When hot-patching RAM, the patch must be enabled every time you want to skip the save file check to import a modified file. This is not necessary if the save file was imported correctly using the "Import" function.

In "Load unmodified external/modified save file in patched game":

The game runs several checksum checks and compares Steam IDs before loading the save file. Enabling this option will patch the game to skip all checks that allow you to not only load save files from other users, but also modify your own files without worrying about checksums. Note, however, that the game does not have a settings file outside of graphics settings, so loading an external save file will also load all game settings in that file. If you want to keep your own game settings, consider using the import feature.

About 'Importing foreign games'

This function takes a source file and an optional destination file. The save slots in the source file will be copied to the target file, while the target's game settings will be preserved. Omitting the target file will directly modify the source file to make it importable into the game. A backup will be created automatically. Note, however, that games do not have settings files outside of graphics settings, so when you omit the target file, the newly imported save file will contain all of the game settings from the file provider.

Prerequisite: .NET Framework 4.5

Administrative rights (for patching and overwriting files)

64-bit operating system

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
