Update 0.1.16 supports game of the year edition
The 0.1.11 update supports the 1.03 version of the game. Logically speaking, it also supports the previous version of the game. If you have problems when using the 0.1.11 version, it is recommended to reinstall the 0.1.10 version of the Mod Engine.
File replacement dll library, allowing you to modify weapons, armor, parameters, textures, etc.
Mod Engine is an injection DLL library that makes modifying Sekiro game files very easy and safe. Gone are the days when you had to use UXM and unpack the game files to play mods.
Mod Engine supports any mod that relies on file editing, including mods that install weapons, armor, parameters, textures, etc.
Running "Sekiro" will create a mods folder. You can modify the ini file to customize the location of the Mod folder.
Mod Engine only supports the steam version of "Sekiro" 1.02. Other or unencrypted versions will not work properly and will not be supported. Please do not report any issues other than the retail version of Sekiro 1.02.
If the game is updated, the Mod Engine will also be updated
Install:
- Copy dinput8.dll and modengine.ini to your Sekiro root directory (usually located in steam\steamapps\common\Sekiro) hangar
- Unzip or copy the files of the mod to be installed to the "mods" folder in the "Sekiro" directory.
For example, if you install a character mod, you should create a directory named "mods" in the "Sekiro" game directory and copy all the files of the mod (including various models, textures, parameters, etc. files) to the "mods" folder.
- Open modengine.ini and modify the modOverrideDirectory parameter to the folder where you set the mod (the '\' character needs to be added in front). The default is "\mods". Although you can customize this folder, I don't mind modifying this directory.
- Use Mods. If you want to use different mods, please set modOverrideDirectory to another directory, such as "/mods1" "/mods2".
- Uninstall, delete or rename dinput8.dll.
NOTE: Some mods may include their own modengine.ini that enables special settings required by the mod. In this case, install the action provided by the mod author and use the modengine.ini file provided by the mod author
feature:
*Mod Engine will directly let the game give priority to running the contents of the set "mods" folder without extracting game files or modifying exe files, so that the game will not crash directly.
*Skip the game's logo when starting the game so you can enter the game faster
Note: Mod Engine only supports mods based on modified files. Mods of dll injection type are currently not supported.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
