FIX FOR CONTROLLERS NOT WORKING WITH SEKIRO
🎮 **Perfect solution to controller identification problem**
Problem description
Sekiro will detect and use the first controller it sees on startup, which may include regular USB devices. This will cause your game controller to not be recognized and used correctly.
Installation steps
- **Download necessary files**
- Go to the GitHub link (under "requirements")
- Click "Releases" on the right side of the page
- Download the latest version of "devreorder_1.0.4.zip" (or the latest current version)
- **Copy DLL file**
- Depending on your system architecture (x32 or x64), copy the corresponding dinput8.dll file to the Sekiro game directory
- Most gaming PCs use the x64 version
- NOTE: Only one of the .dll files can be used
- **Profile Settings**
- Copy the devreorder.ini file to the Sekiro game directory as well
- Run DeviceLister.exe to view the device list
- Rerun the program after plugging in the controller to identify your controller name
- **Configure controller sequence**
- Open the devreorder.ini file
- Paste your controller name under the [order] section
- Make sure the name is exactly as shown in DeviceLister.exe
💡 **IMPORTANT NOTE**
- **Do not** add the ";" symbol before the controller name
- If you still have problems, you can add unused controller names to the "hidden" section
Compatibility with Mod Engine
If you are using Sekiro Mod Engine:
- Rename the dinput8.dll provided by this mod (for example: controllerdinput8.dll)
- Set the chainDInput8DLLPath path in the modengine.ini file
- Example: chainDInput8DLLPath="\\controllerdinput8.dll"

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
