SotV Patcher
Tries to make old mods into a workable state
About this mod Author’s original text
ror2-sotv-patcher
This patcher for BepInEx aims to automatically fix "simple" plugins for Risk of Rain 2, that were written before DLC1 came out.
It tries to point old mods to the new location of many things, but does not change of logic of that mod.
Known NonFixable things
These things cannot be fixed automatically or require such significant effort (at least, at first glance) that I will not be writing code to fix them.
- Loading assets through addressables
- Using outdated R2API features (modules, serialible contentpacks(?))
Known Issues:
Contributions to solve these issues are more than welcomed.
- [Assembly-CSharp]RoR2.Networking was reworked in [RoR2]RoR2.NetworkSystem, there exists no current mapping to fix this.
- KinematicCharacterController was moved to it's own DLL. There's no mapping to fix this yet.
This list is exhaustive of "known" issues, but others may indeed exist, please do let me know.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
