About this mod Author’s original text
Risk of Resources hosts a competitive event most weeks where participants attempt to complete the same seeded run with a specific character loadout in the least amount of time. In addition to the action on stream, scores can be seen on our website. This is integrated into a lobby system, hooked up to the game and updated in realtime.

Additionally, to ensure fairness between players, minor gameplay changes are in effect.
The most extensive, yet least noticeable are a multitude of changes to the seeding (i.e. random number generator) system. While the methods used in the base game are generally sound, there are a large number of edge cases that can cause outcomes to diverge based on prior actions. However, in most all cases identical probability has been maintained.
More significantly, in order to support a variety of skill levels and encourage risk-taking, death is no longer permanent. Instead, a penalty will be applied to the player's current time (score only) and they will be revived shortly after. Information on scoring can also be found here.
Other minor tweaks include reduced requirements to enter the final boss arena due to overreliance on equipment otherwise. Generally, the use of lunar tiered items is also not allowed. Time does not pause in hidden realms, and certain exploits have been fixed.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
