OmniSprint
Lets you sprint in any direction instead of only within a forward-facing cone.
About this mod Author’s original text
OmniSprint
Removes Risk of Rain 2's forward-facing-cone restriction on sprinting, so you
can sprint in any direction.
How it works
RoR2.CharacterBody already has a BodyFlags.SprintAnyDirection flag that
the game engine itself checks before gating the sprint speed bonus behind an
aim/move-direction dot-product threshold. This plugin just sets that flag on
every player body as it spawns.
Building
Requires the.NET SDK. First build will restore RiskOfRain2.GameLibs and
MMHOOK.RoR2 from the BepInEx NuGet feed (configured in the.csproj), so
you need an internet connection the first time.
dotnet build
The compiled OmniSprint.dll lands in bin\Debug\netstandard2.1\.
Installing
Requires BepInEx 5
installed for Risk of Rain 2 (e.g. via r2modman Mod Manager, or
manually).
Copy OmniSprint.dll into:
\BepInEx\plugins\OmniSprint\OmniSprint.dll
Multiplayer note
This only sets the flag on bodies spawned locally. In co-op, host and clients
should all run the mod to avoid mismatched sprint behavior between players.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
