Info

This pack consists of complete Risk of Rain 1, Risk of Rain 2 (SotV and SotS included), DEADBOLT and Risk of Rain Returns soundtracks. The file settings.xml has been configured to support the included audio - basically, game's original ost plays (mostly) on the same stages as vanilla with added music from 2 other games.

I tried to stay as accurate to the mood of each stage as possible and add at least one additional track (both normal theme and tele event) to each stage.

Might put more OSTs from Chris Chrostodoulou in the future.

Massive credit goes to Kyle Paulsen for developing the original mod ( and to Chris Christodoulou for composing the soundtracks.

As of 2.0.0 update, you can change the volume of the modded soundtrack while in game using RiskOfOptions right here:

Since the mod doesn't actually replace the original game's music but plays on top of it, game's music volume is automatically set to 0 upon game's launch, so it should look like this:

Variations (unique feature)

Most music in the mod that plays during teleporter event has shorter variants that start closer to their respective crescendos (or slightly remixed versions) that can randomly play instead of the full version from the original OST - some more intense parts of the original tracks usually are incredibly rare to be heard in game (because you are supposed to go to the next stage as soon as the teleporter is ready is you want to win). This adds a little bit more variety to the soundtrack and frankly some of those more intense parts are just too good, so now you can listen to them in-game in full glory.

Customization

Since it's based on OriginalSoundTrack, you are still able to add/remove music tracks and assign stages for them (or for the existing ones) in the settings.xml file, which is located in the mod folder. You are still able to change the volume of the individual tracks in it, but as of 2.0.0 the global volume tag at the very top of the file does nothing and the true value was instead moved to a config file so that RiskOfOptions is able to change it.

Compatibility

The mod is incompatible with any other mod that is using NAudio.dll to play sounds. Make sure you either delete or disable the conflicting audio mods.

It's also vanilla-compatible, so you don't need the SotV to run it AND it would work with new stages if someone hosts a game for you with the DLC enabled.

Special thanks to

  • Chris Christodoulou (made the music)
  • KylePaulsen (made OriginalSoundTrack)
  • ZiggyLata (helped to banish the ghost files)
  • Paddy (helped with the client-sided update)
  • KubeRoot (helped MAJORLY with 2.0.0 update and suffered the ravages of VSC with me)
  • Rune580 (allowed the free use of RiskOfOptions dependency and clarified the GPL3 license)
  • and you (for downloading ♥)

Known issues

  • Title screen music is not looped (and won't be because I don't want it to always restart when you open logbook or game lobby)
  • Mod might break if it doesn't play sounds for very long (requires a restart)
  • Mod is relatively heavy (don't want to reduce quality)
  • Mod might refuse to work (NAudio.dll "MmException: BadDeviceId calling waveOutOpen")
  • Intro audio randomly duplicating itself
  • False Son fight isn't supported yet
  • My interest in the game has waned, so updates might be infrequent

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
