DroneAutoRepair

v1.1.1·Updated 2026-02-07

Purchased drones repair themselves over time after death like Operator's. Can be configured to take money.

About this mod Author’s original text

Commission for Wiz3rd and Matsan.

Purchased drones will begin slowly healing after they die, similar to Operator's Mk. 2 Drones.\

Can repair drones that are normally unrepairable, like Gunner Turrets and the TC-280 Prototype. Equipment drones keep their equipment.\

Also affects other mechanical allies such as Lt. Droneboy, Col. Droneman, and the Empathy Cores.. (Commissioner request)

Repairing

Mechanical ally auto-repair speed is configurable. (Default is 20 seconds for majority.)\

Repair speed can also be configured per drone category (Damage, Healing, Utility), or for each specific drone (including modded).

Individual drones can be configured to ignore the auto-repair effect.

Cost

The cost of purchasing drones can be configured. You may want to increase the cost to offset the advantage this mod gives.

Optional setting to automatically take gold before it begins repairing the drones. When using this mode, some special conditions apply:

  • Does not affect Operator's Mk. 2 Drones, the Equipment Drone, or any other free mechanical ally.
  • Auto-repair cost is configurable. I recommend reducing it for your sanity.
  • Gold cost is ignored on boss stages to prevent unavoidable losses (configurable): Gilded Coast, Prime Meridian, Solutional Haunt, Neural Sanctum, Commencement, The Planetarium, A Moment Whole, and Computational Exchange
  • Drone repair will be delayed until the cost can be met. Then it will immediately take your gold.
  • Downed drones that are not repurchased will be destroyed permanently when heading to the next stage.
  • You can't buy another players drone.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
