A difficulty for Risk of Rain 2 designed to make the Artifact of Command challenging, with five optional Nail Polish artifacts you can freely combine.
The difficulty
Ai Que Ódio has +51% difficulty scaling compared to Rainstorm and Monsoon's standard −40% health regeneration penalty. This does not reduce all healing by 40%.
Only the Artifact of Command is enabled automatically. The five Nail Polishes are optional and work on any difficulty, not just Ai Que Ódio.
The five Nail Polishes
| Artifact | Effect |
| --- | --- |
| Pink | Monsters receive 1 item at the first second of the run. Afterwards, the interval decreases each stage: 60, 58, 54, 48, 40, 30, 18 seconds… down to a minimum of 15. Stage 1 rolls white items only; from stage 2, allowed green, red, yellow and food items are also available. |
| Orange | Grants extra Irradiant Pearls on entering each stage: 1 at stage 3, another 2 at stage 4, another 3 at stage 5… Pearls accumulate. Does not grant ordinary Pearls. |
| Purple | Permanently activates the Tonic effect on monsters from stage 5 and grants Defensive Microbots at stage 6 or on the Moon. |
| Black | Players acquiring items and drones trigger monster rolls of matching rarity, proportional to the participant count. Temporary items grant temporary items. No stage restrictions. |
| Blue | Adds 100 percentage points to the selected difficulty's scaling. Ai Que Ódio goes from +51% to +151%; Rainstorm goes from 0% to +100%. Does not multiply scaling by two. |
The monster item panel works for both host and clients without enabling the Artifact of Evolution. The notification at the top stays for 2 seconds, shows ×N for grants containing multiple copies, then moves to the panel.
The custom audio plays in sync for all players on Pink Nail Polish deliveries, not deliveries from the other Nail Polishes. It uses Windows' native audio system.
The Permanent Tonic indicator appears next to Gesture of the Drowned and is visual only: it does not occupy equipment, replace elite powers, or appear as an option in Command or Command Queue.
Language and announcements
In-game descriptions, artifact names, tooltips, messages and death quotes follow each player's game language: Brazilian Portuguese or English, with English as the fallback for other languages.
Monster item announcements are straightforward: “The monsters received [item].” The entire line uses the item's rarity color, and the item name is resolved in each player's own language, independently of the host's language. Grants containing multiple copies also show the quantity.
Allowed items and restrictions
All rolls respect the allowed item list and enabled expansions. The white-only restriction at stage 1 belongs to Pink, not Black.
- The only allowed food items are Hearty Stew, Quick Fix and Seared Steak. Pink can roll them from stage 2; Black has no stage restriction.
- Irradiant Pearl can also be rolled with yellow items, independently of Orange's extra Pearls.
- Substandard Duplicator, Pocket I.C.B.M. and Ben's Raincoat are allowed in red rolls.
- Dio's Best Friend can only be granted once per run. After the first grant, it leaves the roll pools and never appears in temporary copies.
- Pink uses white, green, red, yellow and the selected food groups. Black also handles Void groups separately. Neither system rolls lunar items.
Blocked monster items include Happiest Mask, Interstellar Desk Plant, Chronic Expansion, Ghor's Tome, Gasoline, Resonance Disc, Bottled Chaos, Will-o'-the-wisp, Hunter's Harpoon, Leeching Seed, Hardlight Afterburner, Bandolier, Cautious Slug, Crowbar and Paul's Goat Hoof. Native restrictions for items unsuitable for AI still apply, except for the explicit allowances above.
Substandard Duplicator
Creates real temporary copies on subsequent eligible grants, with their duration visible in the monster panel. Copies keep the original roll's rules: a Black grant does not acquire Pink's stage restriction. T
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
