SkillFern
Replaces shop upgrades with a polished skill tree system
About this mod Author’s original text
NOW WORKS IN SINGLEPLAYER
Changes in 1.4.0
- purchaseable skill points in the shop (see below)
- balancing changes to default config
SkillFern
Adds a skill tree (or fern) to replace the R.E.P.O. upgrades system.
This mod comes with:
- Fair and equal progression for all players
- No more fighting over the last strength upgrade in the shop
- New strategies and opportunities to pursue upgrades you wouldn't normally purchase
How does it work?
Accessing the skills menu
You can access the skill fern from the button at the top right of your pause menu.
Click on a node to purchase it, applying the respective upgrade.
Earning points
Earn skill points for completing levels or buying magic saplings in the shop.
You'll gain more points as the moon phase increases. Points bought in the shop go to the whole team equally.
Edge nodes
The larger nodes at the edge of the tree can be purchased unlimited times at increasing price to ensure you can upgrade without limits.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
