minimap ext

minimap ext is a BepInEx small extension Mod for R.E.P.O. Based on the existing Minimap Mod, it additionally displays remote player and monster markers, making it easy to quickly confirm the positions of teammates and enemies on the minimap.

Function description

  • Show remote player markers in Minimap's overlay.
  • Show monster markers in Minimap's overlay.
  • Skip local players and only handle other remote players.
  • Player marker color uses player head/decoration color.
  • Surviving remote players have a one-pixel green stroke.
  • Dead players are always shown, marked in red, and do not show a stroke.
  • Monsters are marked black with a one-pixel red stroke.
  • The runtime will wait for the Minimap object to be prepared, and then use Minimap.CustomObject, OverLayerParent and CustomPositionSet to create and update markers.
  • Only adds additional markers, does not replace, cover, or take over the original functions of Minimap.

This Mod has no additional functions and does not modify the core logic of Minimap.

Dependency requirements

  • BepInExPack 5.4.2100 or compatible.
  • Minimap Mod must be installed and enabled.

NOTE: This DLL has a hard runtime dependency on the BepInEx plug-in GUID Minimap. If Minimap is not installed or enabled, BepInEx will not load this Mod normally.

Installation method

Using the Mod Manager

  • Install BepInExPack.
  • Install and enable Minimap Mod.
  • Install this package.
  • Start the game.

Manual installation

  • Confirm that the game has BepInEx installed.
  • Confirm that the Minimap Mod is placed in BepInEx and is functioning properly.
  • Place the minimap ext.dll in this package into BepInEx/plugins/ in the game directory.
  • Start the game.

Configuration items

After the first run, BepInEx will generate a configuration file for this Mod. Available configurations are in the [Markers] section:

[Markers]

Show player minimap markers for remote players.

ShowPlayers = true

Show enemy minimap markers.

ShowEnemies = true

[Markers] ShowPlayers

  • true: Show remote player minimap markers.
  • false: Hide remote player minimap markers.

[Markers] ShowEnemies

  • true: Display monster minimap markers.
  • false: Hide monster minimap markers.

Run process

  • After loading the Mod, wait for the Minimap runtime object to be prepared.
  • When Map.Instance, Minimap.CustomObject and OverLayerParent are available, the Mod starts creating markers.
  • Mod regularly scans remote players and spawned monsters.
  • Each marker is updated following the position of the corresponding object through Minimap's CustomPositionSet.
  • If Minimap is recreated, switched, or temporarily unavailable, existing markers will be cleaned up and regenerated when Minimap is ready again.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
