MCZombie Legacy Compat
Makes MCZombieMod 1.2.1 (and its PaintedUtils 1.1.0 dependency) work on current R.E.P.O. (0.4.x) with REPOLib 4.x.
What it fixes
- Zombie movement: MCZombieMod calls EnemyNavMeshAgent.Warp(Vector3), removed from the game. The zombie stayed frozen and threw an exception every frame (tens of thousands per level). Fixed.
- Rotten Flesh: eating it no longer breaks (PhysGrabber.ReleaseObject changed), one bite per piece, heals as intended.
- Rotten Flesh sickness (was never finished in the original mod): after eating, the player is sick for 45 s and pukes a few times with the game's own puke effect, visible to every player. Can be disabled.
- Loot drops: PaintedUtils' item dropper used REPOLib 2 spawn APIs; zombies now drop Rotten Flesh again.
- Grabbing a zombie: no more exception every frame; the zombie targets the player holding it.
- Enemy registration and legacy enemy lookup (horde spawning) on REPOLib 4.
- Minecraft maps zombie guarantee (optional, on by default): one zombie on Minecraft Cave / Stronghold / Village, spawned on a valid level point, with no repeated scene scans.
How it works (please read)
The package contains a small BepInEx preloader patcher (BepInEx/patchers). At game start, before plugins load, it rewrites the outdated calls inside MCZombieMod.dll and PaintedUtils.dll in place so they target the current game/REPOLib APIs.
- The original files are kept next to them as *.dll.ctbak.
- Only references that no longer exist are touched. If MCZombieMod or PaintedUtils get an official update, the patcher leaves them alone.
- A file is never patched twice (already patched in the log).
Config (000.CaptainTeam.MCZombieFix.cfg)
- MCZombie Compatibility / Guarantee Zombie On Minecraft Maps (default true)
- Rotten Flesh / Sickness Effect (default true)
Multiplayer
Every player must have this package (same as MCZombieMod itself).
Requirements
BepInExPack, REPOLib 4.2.0, PaintedUtils 1.1.0, MCZombieMod 1.2.1 (declared in the manifest).

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
