Homelander
Homelander, a new tier 3 monster, utilising his heat vision and menacing laugh, can haunt the halls of
any place you visit. His laser burns anything in its way, other monsters included. He comes with a config where you can change certain values, but otherwise is a
fun, basic mod I made for myself and a few friends. Sharing here in the event anyone may enjoy it.
Everyone in the lobby needs the mod installed.
If this mod proves to be popular, I'll look at adding more features, maybe more of his powers, that kind
of thing. I already have some ideas, they just haven't been implemented yet.
Config
BepInEx/config/53757065726d616e.Homelander.cfg, or in game with REPOConfig. The host's settings are
the ones that count. A few you might want:
- Chance (100): how often he turns up. Vanilla monsters are 100, go higher to see him more.
- Health (300)
- Laser DamagePerSecond (30)
- Laser EnemyDamagePerSecond (40): damage to other monsters. 0 leaves them alone.
- Laser ChargeSeconds (1): the warning you get before the beam fires. Lower it to give people less time to hide.
- Laser TrackSpeed (4.5): how fast the beam follows you. Sprinting sideways just outruns it.
- Laser CatchUpSpeed (8): how fast it swings back once it's a few metres off you.
- Laser ReactionTime (0.1): how far behind you the beam lags, in seconds. 0 aims right at you.
- Theme Volume (0.09): 0 turns his music off.
- SpawnKey (off): set a key (e.g. F8) and the host can spawn him for testing.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
