You're alright boah

Welcome to **You're alright boah!** 🐎

These are reworked horse coat colors. Some are just recolors, others are "patchwork" combinations. Most of the coat colors are based on the Turkoman because I'm a big Turkish horse lover! You can use them to replace any horse you want. But if you would like a specific coat color to appear on another breed of horse, feel free to ask me.

⚙️ Installation requirements

**Required pre-modules:**

  • **Lenny's Mod Loader** (see their mod page requirements)
  • The `version.dll` file in **Lenny's Simple Trainer** (see its mod page requirements)
💡 **IMPORTANT NOTE:** If you are installing any or all of the above mods for the first time, be sure to follow their installation instructions carefully.
⚠️ **WARNING:** If you do not put the `version.dll` file into the game root, newer online coat colors will not load properly in story mode, which will cause your horse to become partially invisible!

---

📥 How to install

  • Unzip the coat color file you want.
  • Place them into the `Red Dead Redemption 2/lml/stream` folder.
  • If the `stream` folder does not exist, you need to create it manually.
🚫 **Note:** Do not put the `.rar` compressed package directly into the `stream` folder!

🎨 Replace other horses

If you want to replace other horses in the game with these coat colors, simply rename the `.ymt` file to the file name of the horse you want to replace. You can find a list of filenames in the "Miscellaneous Files" section.

---

📏 Adjust horse size

You can resize the horse by opening the file of your choice with a text editor and modifying the `scale` value. You can find a picture in the "Miscellaneous Documents" section indicating where to find this scaling value.

**For example:**

  • Arabian horse = 0.91875000
  • Kentucky Saddle Horse = 1.01700000
  • Hungarian Mixed Horse = 1.08750000
  • Sharma = 1.14370000

⭐ Recommended creators and mods

Here are some great creators and mods you should definitely check out:

  • **ReaSylvia** - was kind enough to share the process of "Customizing Horse Textures" with me.
  • **bolju** - Excellent coat color and breed modification.

📌 IMPORTANT NOTE

  • These are **only** cosmetic changes. They **do not** affect the horse's attributes or NPC reactions to the horse.
  • Feel free to use and modify these files if you want to experiment.
  • I only speak German, English and a little bit of French, I don't understand other languages.

Enjoy your new horse companion! 🤠

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
