⚙️ Core functions
🌡️ Basic core consumption
Your core points slowly deplete over time. Prevent core depletion through eating, drinking, sleeping, and self-care.
💧 Thirst Core
Over time you become dehydrated... which slowly depletes your core, eventually leading to reduced health and even death.
- Use a kettle or drink from the river to restore thirst cores
- Can store 6 bottles of beer on the horse to quench thirst
- Refill your water bottle at the river/lake or pay for water and whiskey at the tavern
🍖 Hungry Core
There is actually no independent hunger core...
Sleeping or bathing does not restore health cores by default, only eating does. This effectively turns your healthy core into a hungry core.
🌧️ Weather Core
Not dressing appropriately for the weather can lead to overheating or hypothermia. This consumes core points, applies screen effects and slowly loses health.
- Warm up by the campfire or drink wine to stay warm
- Take shelter from the rain in a tent
- Drink water or cleanse to cool down
😴 Sleep Core
Contains full "sleep deprivation" functionality:
- Not sleeping for a long time can lead to fatigue and the "heavy blinking" effect.
- Core consumption speeds up
-Eventually passes out from lack of sleep
🤕 Injury system
There is a random chance of being injured during combat, resulting in falls, bleeding, and temporary inability to move:
- Health will not automatically recover when injured
- Core consumption speeds up
- Pain can be relieved by resting or drinking alcohol
- Injury healing conditions can be set (automatic healing, sleep healing or using health supplements + sleep)
🔥 Rest System
Rest slowly restores the physical core, accelerating the recovery of physical strength and health (especially when injured), and napping partially restores the sleep core.
- Companions will rest with you (can be disabled)
- Various resting positions increase immersion
- Long press the prompt button for additional options: standing to smoke, sitting on the edge, etc.
- You can choose "wait" or "nap" when taking a break
🧼 Cleaning function
Washing in rivers can:
- Remove blood and dirt
- Cool down in hot weather
- Wake up quickly
- Reduce sleepiness
🥃 Whiskey Flask
Long press the "Drink from the jug" prompt key to drink:
- Being drunk helps cope with bad weather
- Relieve pain and restore health when injured
- Optionally make the drunken state enhance toughness and make Death Eye only work when drunk
- Refill whiskey in the tavern
⛺ Camp setup
Camp can be set up anywhere:
- Optionally only build when near horses
- Long press the "Set up tent" prompt key to set up fortifications
👕 Change clothes anytime and anywhere
Custom outfits saved on your horse can be switched anywhere:
- Only available for *custom* apparel
- Does not work with preset sets purchased from the store or trapper
- Makes the survival experience less hardcore, allowing you to travel without horses and not be affected by the weather

🎮 Instructions for use
Use the default hotkey "0" (can be modified in ini) or the "open backpack" button on the controller to call out the prompt menu.
This hotkey can cancel any animation at any time, in case you get stuck on one. It can also hide the "wait one hour" prompt when taking a break.

⚠️ Known issues
- The weather core system is relatively complex and is made based on the author's personal preferences. There is no easy way to add options for everyone to adjust to their own preferences.
- The "Wait One Hour" feature confli …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
