Running Gun - Challenges
🎯 Module function
This mod changes all game challenges to combat-focused content, allowing players to complete these challenges as background tasks while enjoying the game.
💡 Design Concept
My main complaint about the challenges in the original Red Dead Redemption 2 was that they took up too much time and were too demanding, time that could be spent exploring the game world and learning the game's mechanics. This mod makes the challenges more focused on the player's weapon proficiency, making the gameplay experience smoother and more natural.
⚠️ Things to note before installation
Please back up your archive file before installation. The archive location is: Documents/Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2/Profiles/Archive Folder/
🔧 Known issues
- There is no way to unlock the "Legends of the East" set yet, a possible solution is to use Rampage Trainer to unlock all sets
- The challenge icon may not load until you complete a level, but this shouldn't be a big issue since you won't be checking challenge progress very often
🎮 Usage suggestions
You can start the game after installation, and the challenge system will automatically adjust to a combat-oriented mode, allowing you to focus more on the core experience of the game!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
