📖 About this preset

Filmic Clarity is an advanced ReShade preset designed to provide the most accurate rendering of cinematic effects for Red Dead Redemption 2.

The default presets are optimized for recent system configurations for smooth gaming and neutral color grading.

There are performance presets for every machine, as well as variants specifically for screenshots. Performance tests were conducted on an older machine (CPU 3570k and GPU 1060), so results may vary, most likely better.

Advanced lighting effects are also supported, including global illumination and experimental subsurface scattering. All relevant options are detailed in the guide to allow maximum user control and room for adjustment.

The comprehensive shader list first corrects the original game image to remove dusty tones through effects such as sharpening, contrast, dehaze and color correction, then simulates the real film processing pipeline. First simulate the lens effects, then a large number of film types, and finally simulate the film development and scanning process.

⚙️ Installation Guide

**Tip**: If you have an existing ReShade preset (including an older version of this preset) and wish to completely uninstall it first, please delete the following folders and files in the game directory (if any) and skip directly to step 6.

* Any `.ini` file recognized as a ReShade preset

• **Download ReShade**: Download ReShade from here.
• **Run the installer**: If you are running RDR2 on the Vulkan API, I personally recommend enabling ReShade globally in Vulkan, otherwise you will have to keep the installer open every time you run the game for ReShade to work. But a significant side effect is that **ReShade will be enabled in every Vulkan game on your system**.
• **Select Game**: Click the button Select Game and select your `RDR2.exe` executable file. It is usually automatically recognized, but if not, you can browse manually.
