Remove camera smoothing

🎯 Features

After many attempts, I finally found a way to remove the annoying camera smoothing effect when viewing with my bare hands! This feature might be nice for controller users, but it’s a nightmare for mouse users.

After removing the smoothing effect, you can:

  • Freedom to run in any direction
  • Draw your gun and shoot accurately without worrying about the crosshair position changing
  • Get the same sharp mouse/camera feel as GTA V, IV and most other third-person shooters

⚙️ Essential tools

  • Lenny's Mod Loader
  • ScriptHook RDR2

📁 Installation method

Just place the "Remove Camera Smoothing" file into your lml folder.

⚠️ Compatibility Notes

**Not compatible with any modules that modify the cameras.ymt file! **

But in order to make this module compatible with your favorite or customized cameras.ymt module, I have provided the necessary modifications:

In the camera.ymt file, delete the code located at line 5762:

`0x1385680D`

🎮 Recommended matching modules

For the best shooting experience and precise aiming, I recommend using with the following mods:

  • Custom Sensitivity - Custom sensitivity
  • Unlocked Interaction Camera and Duel Free Aim - Unlocked Interaction Camera and Duel Free Aim
  • No Reticle Spread V2 - No Reticle Spread V2
  • No Reticle Sway V2 - No Reticle Sway V2
  • Rspect's Cameras or Stop Screen Shake - Stable Cam - If you want to use these mods, make sure to merge my mods into their cameras.ymt (only one can be selected)

I personally built my own custom camera mod based on "Stop Screen Shake" and added/removed a few changes based on personal preference. If anyone is interested in my custom camera, please leave a message and I may consider uploading another mod containing these camera changes.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
