About this mod Machine translation

A ReShade preset that reduces vignetting in Red Dead Redemption 2.

It's here! A way to do some little vignettes about Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2)! I did find the vignetting in RDR2 really distracting, so I tried to eliminate it. Unfortunately it's not entirely possible yet. So I made a ReShade preset that at least reduced vignetting. The first version only had one setting, this new version has an additional night setting to reduce vignetting even more. There is a drawback, though: since this mode brightens the edges of the screen (a negative vignetting, in fact), the surroundings of the sun and moon also become brighter. I tried to minimize it and get a balance between brightness and lowering the vignetting. Is it? It's not an "easy" fix, but requires some steps. Originally I put the description on this page, but changed it: you'll find all the information in the compressed vignetting zip file you download. Be sure to read and follow the steps given in the text file! Even if you know how to use ReShade???? For new ReShade users, there are YouTube links on this page in text files or videos segmented by By default, only the normal settings are active. This also reduces vignetting at night, but not by much. If you want to activate the night setting, press the N key. This is optional: by default, nights also reduce vignetting, but pressing the N key reduces vignetting to a greater extent. When it becomes daytime, pressing the N key again will also prevent Justice. In RDR2's online mode, the N key is used for "push-to-talk." But since this mod is only supposed to be used in story mode, this should be no problem. If used in online mode you risk being banned! If you want to change the N key to any key (orkey combination), please see the attached text file for that. There is also a text file containing how to change the default key for ReShademenu in the game. By default, this is the Home key, but it's also the same key for Social Club. With just a few clicks, the ReShade menu and social club stuff disappears. That's okay to change. My mod works with other ReShade settings, but it interferes with them. Especially if you use whitener set. The screenshots only show the effect. The nighttime screenshot shows that the nighttime setting is active. To see the full (sometimes subtle) effect, watch the screen with your full attention. Last but not least: I will try my best to answer all questions. . . But not about ReShade not working etc. For example, there are reports that on certain AMD graphics cards, it will not work. It's not my mod's fault, it's ReShade's. For more information on how to use ReShade in your game, see the FAQ or forum

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
