Lighter and Brighter for RDR2
🎮 **A lightweight image quality enhancement module specially created for "Red Dead Redemption 2"! **
✨ Module Introduction
This is a simple realistic shader that is lighter (minimal performance impact) and brighter (more lighting effects). Designed specifically for notebook gamers or players who pursue high frame rates, the performance overhead is extremely low (only about 0.128ms - 0.225ms GPU usage). This version is compatible with any Reshade 4.x.x version (4.3 - 4.9.1) and is optimized for Red Dead Redemption 2’s new DLSS feature, effectively preventing over-sharpening.
The author produced this version out of interest during the second lockdown. After reading an article about the DLSS feature brought by the update of "Red Dead Redemption 2", I decided to return to the game world I left a year ago due to lack of hard drive space. After reinstalling, I found that the game size had reached 118GB, but the amazing performance of DLSS on the old computer made it all worth it!

🛠️ Installation Guide
- **Download the Reshade installer**: Download from the Reshade official website.
- **Install Reshade**: Choose the API you want (Vulkan or DirectX 12) and just install the base shader.
- **Place shader file**: Unzip and drag the downloaded **`RDR2Lite.fx`** file into the default folder of the Reshade shader:
- **Reshade Vulkan API**:`C:\ProgramData\ReShade\reshade-shaders\Shaders`
- **Reshade DX12 API**: The same directory as your **`RDR2.exe`** file, for example `C:\Program Files\Epic Games\RedDeadRedemption2\reshade-shaders\Shaders` (the author is using the Epic Games store version).
- **Activate Shader**: Run the game and check the **`RDR2Lite.fx`** shader in the Reshade interface to activate it.
⚙️ Custom adjustments
The default is set to a neutral screen configuration. You can easily adjust the **Dark Level** or **Light Intensity** values to match your personal preference or display configuration (OLED/IPS/TN/VA, etc.).
*Example settings: Shadow Level = +0.050, Light Intensity = +0.200*

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
