Realistic Long Barrel - Shotgun
🔫 Module introduction
This mod modifies the long barrel variant of the shotgun in the game to the same true length as it is sold in the real world!
📏Real size adjustment
The guns I modify usually come from the factory with:
- **28"** (Auto 5 automatic shotgun)
- **30 inches** (all other guns)
- **32 inches** (Special order version)
I scaled a reference photo of the gun with the correct length, compared it to the original model in the game and adjusted it accordingly.
⚙️ Short barrel treatment
I don't modify most short barrels because they are already pretty accurate - except for pump action shotguns. I adjusted the short pump action barrel to the same length as the Winchester 1897 Vandal model.
🎯 Muzzle special effects repair
Include weaponcomponents.meta file to fix muzzle effects issue:
- Place the file into the `\lml\stream` folder
- This will modify the visual effects offset values of all components of this mod
If you don't see a change, there is a conflict and another mod that contains weaponcomponents.meta may be installed. In this case, the following values need to be adjusted manually in the existing file:
**Repeating Shotgun - Long Barrel**
``
**Pump Action Shotgun**
- Short barrel: ``
- Long barrel: ``
**Double Barrel Shotgun - Long Barrel**
``
**Semi-Auto Shotgun - Long Barrel**
``
📁 Installation instructions
Since this is the first mod I've made, I'm not yet familiar with LML's installation XML configuration:
- Just put the required ydr files into the `Red Dead Redemption 2\lml\stream` folder

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
