Real weapon configuration
Tired of everyone being a carbine repeater? Then this mod is for you!
🎯 Historical Accuracy
Did you know? In the 1890s, the Springfield rifle was still popular! But it's barely reflected in the game. This mod fixes this historical inconsistency. Springfields are now used by hunters, some bandits, and rural law enforcers, not just Lemoyne Raiders.
The most commonly used sidearms by American police officers at that time were the Smith & Wesson top-loading revolvers and the Merwin Hurlburt revolvers. They look a lot like the short-barreled Schofield Revolvers from the game, which is now reflected in this mod.
The U.S. Army used Krag bolt-action rifles and Colt double-action revolvers, weapons that are now used by Army soldiers. Spanish troops used bolt-action rifles and Smith & Wesson revolvers, weapons now used by Guarma soldiers.
👮 Enforcer configuration
- **Law Enforcement Officers** and criminals use shotguns more frequently
- **Urban police** use long guns less frequently (Saint Denis, Blackwater)
- **Wagon Guards** use shotguns more frequently (which is very historically accurate)
- **General Law Enforcement Officer** may carry Carbine, Lancaster, Revolver, Springfield, Double Barrel Shotgun
- **Professional Law Enforcement Officers** (such as Sheriff and Pinkerton Detectives) carry pump-action and lever-action shotguns, revolvers, repeaters, and unlocked sniper rifles
🏴☠️ Gang Configuration
- **Lemoyne Raiders** use rifles and repeaters, not double action revolvers (doesn't fit their style), preferring custom built vintage Bulldogs and Schofields
- The **O'Driscoll Gang** and other criminals carry repeaters or double barrel shotguns; black/brown bulldogs or sometimes sawed off shotguns as side weapons
- **The Blount Gang** uses Bulldog, Double Action Revolver, Short Schofield, M1899 - All with blued steel and pearl grips; Lancaster with blued steel frame
🎯 Other features
NPCs may use some plot-locked weapons. Most of these weapons are rare and in worn condition, but you can sometimes find them on NPCs.
Lancaster repeaters, double-barreled shotguns, and double-action revolvers are now widely used weapons (for both gameplay and historical accuracy reasons).
⚔️ Combat Behavior
Changed the accuracy and chance of last person escaping for many NPC types.
If you don't want these behavior changes - just delete the combatbehavior.meta file from the mod folder.
📦 Installation instructions
Copy the mod folder in the mod archive to the LML folder. It is recommended to install it after completing Chapter 1.
🔧 Compatibility
- **Environmental Gangs** - Download patches in optional files

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
