RDR1 Famine Horse Appearance Replacement

🎮 **Mod Introduction**

This mod replaces the appearance of the **Mustang-Tiger Bay** in "Red Dead Redemption 2" with the classic **Hungry Horse** appearance in the original "Red Dead Redemption"! Let you relive the style of the first generation classic mounts in the Western World.

---

🐎 **Mod Function**

  • **Classic appearance reappearance**: The unique coat color and texture of the famine horse in RDR1 are perfectly reproduced.
  • **Simple replacement**: Directly replace the original wild horse-Tiger Bay variety in the game.
  • **Immersive Experience**: Give your Arthur or John a nostalgic gift from the original game.

---

📦 **Installation Method**

Installation is as simple as dragging and dropping the mod files into the **"LML" folder**.

If you are new to modding, please read the following steps carefully to ensure a successful installation.

---

🛠️ **Prerequisites**

First, you need to install some necessary tools to make this horse appearance mod work properly:

  • **Script Hook**
  • Be sure to install the latest version.
  • Put `ScriptHook.dll` into your RDR2 game root directory.
  • **Steam version game directory example**: `C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Red Dead Redemption 2`
  • **Lenny's Mod Loader (LML)**
  • Copy all the contents of the downloaded `ModLoader` folder to your RDR2 game root directory.
  • Once completed, you should be able to see the famous **"lml" folder**, which we will use later.
  • Please be sure to read the `read me` file included in the module download package.
  • **Asi Loader**
  • Simply place the `version.dll` file into your game root directory.
  • This will allow online mode assets and textures to work properly in story mode.

---

🗂️ **Final Steps**

After completing the installation of all the above tools:

  • Open the **"lml" folder** in the game root directory.
  • Create a new folder inside and name it "stream".
  • Put all **.ymt and .ytd files** of this module into this `stream` folder.

If everything is done correctly, the new horse appearance should take effect successfully! 🎉

---

❓ **Troubleshooting**

  • **If the mod doesn't work at all**: Please repeat all installation steps carefully.
  • **If the horse is partially invisible or partially displayed**: It is most likely because you forgot to put the `version.dll` file into the game root directory.
  • **If the tools are installed correctly but the mod still doesn't work**:

*Your game may not be updated to the latest version.

  • The Script Hook you are using may be out of date (in which case the game may not start).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
