RDR1 cars in RDR2

🚗Backstory

While the primary mode of travel in the game is by horse or carriage, modernization gradually becomes apparent as the player progresses through the game, especially in **Blackwater**. 1911 cars are still rare and cannot be driven independently by players, but they play an important role in several main story missions.

Not many cars were produced at the time, commercialization was less than a decade old, and cars were considered rare novelties. All cars in the game are light except for the red **Ford Model T**.

In the opening animation, a **Ford Model T** can be seen unloading cargo at the Blackwater docks. The same car was parked next to an auto repair shop on a street in Blackwater.

**Edgar Ross** and **Archer Fordham** used a burgundy early Ford Model T as their primary means of transportation. **John Marston** rides in this vehicle as a passenger in several game missions.

**Dutch Vanderlinde** stole a burgundy Ford Model T, used it to kidnap a banker, and ultimately crashed it in Edgar Ross's mission "Great Men Are Not Always Wise."

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
