Natural Visual (WIP)

🌟 About the module

There have been a lot of new weather mods coming out lately, and I’ve joined in on the fun! This is a project I've been working on for a few weeks and it's currently about 75-80% complete. I'm looking forward to your feedback and suggestions to help improve it. I'm mainly still adjusting the "rainy" weather, and the other parts are basically ready, but there are still a few things that need to be corrected.

My goal was to achieve the most natural and cleanest possible look, eliminating or significantly reducing all post-production effects. It all started with wanting darker nights. I tested almost every visual mod out there, and while the creators did a great job, I always felt like each one was missing something, so I decided to build my own version from scratch.

🎯 Module features

  • **🌙 Darker Nights** (which can sometimes be too dark), paired with darker, more natural indoor environments (with significantly less artificial lighting), while reducing the brightness of lighting and stars
  • **⛅ Rebuilt weather system** - some changes are minor, some are major (e.g. currently the fog is very thick, I almost completely edited the clear weather to make it clearer, with less fog and clouds, and as a base for other weather, with snow falling more freely)
  • **🎨 Removed or significantly reduced effects**: vignetting, bloom, color correction, dark gradients at the top and bottom of the screen
  • **🌪️ New weather types**: "Dust" based on sandstorms but removing wind, "Heavy Rain" using thunderstorm rain, "Gust" and "Summer Rain" based on clear weather but using hurricanes to modify wind. Can be tested via Trainer (random weather)
  • **☁️ Some cloud layer changes** (the current version retains the original version for the time being and is not yet completed)
  • **🔧 Contains some fixes** (LOD)

More details will be provided in a future update.

Time periods for missions and Gurama only have their effects removed. Night, colors, and other elements haven't changed (yet).

My game settings have brightness set to 10.

📥 Installation instructions

Copy the contents to the LML folder.

⚠️ Not compatible with any other visual mods.

But if you are using the Vestigia or Vestigia Lite mod and want to keep the extra options included with that mod (expanded game settings, more NPCs, etc.), please load my mod after it.

🙏 Special thanks

  • Tuffy's "Visual Settings Reloader", without which a job like this would not be possible
  • RampageDev’s Trainer makes module testing easy
  • Other visual modders whose work inspired me to learn and experiment and understand how it all works

Any comments and suggestions are welcome!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
