Marston Free Roam Deluxe Edition
John Marston and Agent Ross shared a bottle of whiskey in the Beecher's Hope living room. Marston said, "Agent Ross, I'm begging you. I just want to be free so I can raise my son and take care of my wife." Ross asked, "What are you going to do for me in return?" Marston responded, "I have money, a lot of money."

🎮 Archive details
Earlier this month, I uploaded a series of epilogue archive files that were advertised as "minimal completion." That file can be found here: RDR2 Post-Game Save Bundle.
However, the actual completion level of that archive is 77.9%. I have since played the game from start to finish again, finishing with a **69.1% completion rate**. As far as I know, the only other save that comes close to this level of completion is "Maximum Marston", which has 69.9% completion and can be found here. But I had some issues with that archived wardrobe system (it may vary from person to person), so I decided to make one myself.
As far as I know, unless forced by the game, I did not do any of the following in this save:
- Study any kind of animal
- Check any kind of plant
- Collect any dinosaur bone
- Purchase any recipe
- Hunt or kill any legendary animal
- Catch any legendary fish
- Make any jewelry
- Start or complete any treasure hunt mission
- Talk to any stranger (except Valentine's Mickey)
- Collect any cigarette card. *
*He currently has 4 cigarette cards in his inventory, most likely obtained from corpses where high-end cigarettes were looted. I only loot corpses when I need chewing tobacco to replenish my Death Eyes. There are no cards actively collected from the world.
- Additionally, I didn't do a single side quest, bounty, honor quest, stranger quest, or any other extra content I could think of.
- I only purchased **two** pieces of clothing: a black waistcoat and a pair of black spurs.
- I only purchased **one** weapon: a hunting rifle and added a scope to it.
- I didn't do **any other** custom mods.
- In fact, I sold all the guns I collected during the main quest using this mod.
- I sold my thoroughbred Rachel and replaced her with a Morgan horse named Willie.
- In the end, using this mod, I only left $100 in John's wallet.

🎯 What does it all mean
This save is very similar to the one I uploaded before (especially the "poor man's version"), but it's a completely new playthrough of my own and is much less complete. This means you have more things to do and more things to collect. Essentially, you'll start free-roaming as John Marston just like you did as Arthur at the start of Chapter 2: broke, but with an entire game world to enjoy and explore (just without the gang and Dutch's sinister plans that do nothing but ruin lives).
**NOTE**: I **Did** purchase the "Legends of the East Backpack" before finalizing this save.
**NOTE**: (Mild spoilers) I **did** pick up a gold bar located in a specific burned area not far from Horseshoe Lookout. I did this to give myself enough money to build a camp and buy a map for Arthur so that I could complete the main quest as quickly as possible. It's a pity that I didn't know about this mod when I started playing.

📖 Personal plot setting
You are free to use this archive as you wish (including re-uploading your own modified versions). However, I like to consider the following backstory when playing the game...
This is a different timeline than the events leading up to the original Red Dead Redemption. In this timeline, Edgar Ross is not the incorruptible federal agent he wants you to believe. After intense negotiations, John offered to give Ross a full $20,000 in exchange for his freedom, and Ross agreed. But that's not enough for the greedy former Pinkerton detective. He basically hollowed out the Marstons. He took John's collection of fine guns and his fine thoroughbred horses (John cunningly hid a $155 Reutlinger pocket watch that he could sell to a black marketeer for some extra cash). With his newfound wealth, Ro …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
