Prevent guns from automatically reloading

Manual loading

✨ Module introduction

This is a standalone version of my earlier mod 1899 Ballistics, made specifically for players who want this functionality. In the original game, you couldn't reload manually, so I implemented a hack to prevent the auto-reload feature.

---

🎮 How to use

You need to hold down the reload button until the animation ends (or you see the ammo counter change) to complete the reload. If you wish, you can partially reload by releasing the reload button midway through the animation. When the chamber is empty, the total ammunition counter will also display "0". This is normal, please ignore it.

⚠️ Known issues

  • **Dual Wielding**: Only works correctly if the two weapons are of different types. Dual-wielding reloads may fail or behave unpredictably if both weapons are of the same type
  • **Animation Anomaly**: Character's movement/animation speed sometimes temporarily increases during dual-wield reload animation (weird bug)

🔗 Compatibility Notes

There may be conflicts with the following mods:

  • 1899 Ballistics
  • Other reloading related modules

💡 Usage suggestions

This mod gives you more realistic control over the reloading process, adding to the game's tactical depth. You can decide whether to complete the entire reloading process based on the combat situation, or cancel it midway to quickly respond to emergencies.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
