🚂Module introduction
Dear desperadoes!
I was not satisfied with the crazy acceleration of the train after leaving the station in the game, so I decided to make this mod. After some research, we now bring you this improved version!
✅ Advantages
- **REAL SPEED ADJUSTMENT**: Top train speed has been adjusted to the performance of real steam locomotives - "Thatcher Perkins" Type 4-6-0 (100 mph) and NYC #999 Type 4-4-0 (86 mph)
- **Physics Simulation Improvements**: Both acceleration and deceleration depend on the weight of the locomotive and the number of carriages behind it (the heavier → the slower the start and the longer the stop time)
- **Full Impact**: This modification affects all NPC trains
⚠️ Notes
- **Simplified calculation**: For the sake of simplicity, the weight of all carriages is set to 100 tons (regardless of box carriages or passenger carriages)
- **Known Issue**: Chimney disappears at ~67mph
- **Mission Compatibility**: Not all missions involving trains have been tested, there may be brake related issues
🔧 Installation requirements
**Required installation: LML Mod Loader**

Sincerely,

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
