About this mod Machine translation

★This mod bypasses the arterial bleeding restriction for all human NPCs! Including ambushes, buildings, side missions and even those in story missions! And also causes more bloodshed in the original game!

☆This mod has been much needed by some other mods for a long time. Mainly the "Realistic Combat Overhaul" which gives all vital organs a 100% chance of bleeding. But for some arbitrary reason, Rockstar decided to strictly limit when and where the bloodshed can occur. For example, the mission NPC uses a completely separate damage model ( Human_Mission ), which is not in the peddamageinfo.meta file and cannot be modified. They are also blocked in all indoor areas, regardless of NPC or location where they spawn.

☆Well, solving this problem is much simpler than we thought. Because Rockstar has included a side story: The Tracking Arrow!

☆It turns out that tracking arrows have a special flag (VerifyAllowed) for the bleed damage modifier ( CDamageModifierForceBleedout ) to force bleed on legendary animals. Because they also don't bleed and crit when using normal ammo. Ever notice that you have to shoot legendary animals multiple times, even for headshots? That's why, we're using Rockstar to get around it ourselves.

★Instructions for V1.3

  • Made the fixes for v1.1 more reliable (honestly, I don't think anyone found any issues, but to be on the safe side, get better) while also reducing the number of conditions used from 4 to 2. It's nothing too crazy, but it saves CPU cycles and is probably always the best thing to do.
  • This will probably be the last update unless a base game update breaks it or someone finds a critical bug.

★ Changes in v1.2 (ah finally it’s correct...):

  • Uploaded the wrong file like an idiot last time. But it still works fine, no worries, but the mentioned fixes aren't actually included. This time all have been completely restored.

★ Changes in v1.1 (well, but the file uploaded by the author is wrong...):

  • Turn bypasses into their own modifiers and plug them into official modifiers properly instead of hijacking them. This prevents bleeds from weapons that shouldn't deal lethal damage (e.g. Bolas and .22 Tranquilizer ammo from RDO). This ensures that intended gameplay is not affected in any way when used with mods that unlock online content.
  • mods are no longer just simple 6 line changes

★Requires: Lenny's Mod Loader

★Installation: Place the unzipped folder “JustFuckingBleed” into the “LML” folder and have fun!

☆Replace these mods: (If you have them installed, please remove them. They are no longer needed at all.)

  • All Shots Cause Bleed Outs
  • Realistic Combat Overhaul With this mod's lower bullet power option, every NPC will be prevented from falling over after being shot, although it will still work.

☆ Fully compatible with: Ped Damage Overhaul, Red Dead Offline, Overline W.ERO, WhyEm's BloodLust, Conflicts: Anatomical Damage - Uses custom damage modifiers, but removes modifiers used by mission NPCs. So I would recommend not using it anyway.

Basically, any mod that changes the "default_damage_modifiers.meta" file has the potential to break it.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
