Known issues:

Some prompt behaviors changed, such as tying your horse while riding. The cue looks like a regular keystroke, but you really need to hold the horse still. This is due to other hidden prompts taking precedence. In this case, a hidden dismount prompt will immediately force your men to dismount and ignore the tether command.

Some animal pelts may not render when placed on a horse. But they are still added to their inventory, so don't panic when this happens!

Changes in v1.9:

Fixed an issue where legendary animal pelts would disappear when stored (i.e. or turn into horse wings).

Fixed saddle bag looting not being sped up (I forgot about these tbh).

Friends who use the "1899 Guns" & "Realistic Loot Rebalancing" mods: both of your compatibility patches have been updated!

Changes in v1.8:

All Medium, Large, and Very Large animals now skin Medium animals using unused placeholder animations...

It fixes the silly bug that completely broke skinning and required you to restart the game. (Yes, placeholders are more stable.)

It also allows you to store an unlimited number of large and extra large pelts on your horse. (Crocodile, bear, elk, moose, etc.)

Cons: They all now use coyote fur textures. I mean all of them. So I hope you like brown!

All critters and birds now use placeholder bird skinning animations. This is also more stable.

Fixed an issue with Pearson grabbing Crocodile Eggs during the Chapter 4 Hunting Mission. (I tested it and it's stable now.)

There's probably some other stuff I forgot about...I mean...small optimizations and improvements.

Changes in v1.8:

All Medium, Large and Extra-Large animals now use the unused placeholder animations for skinning medium animals. This does a few things...

It fixes the stupid bug that completely broke skinning and required you to restart your game. (Yes, the placeholder is more stable.)

It also allows you to store an infinite number of Large and Extra-Large pelts on your horse. (Alligators, Bears, Elk, Moose, etc.)

The downside: They all use the coyote pelt texture now. And I mean all of them. So I hope you like the color brown!

All small animals and birds now use the placeholder bird skinning animation. Which is also more stable and doesn't have a jumpy camera guy.

Fixed the looting of Alligator Eggs during Pearson's Chapter 4 hunting mission. (I tested and it's working any ways.)

Probably some other stuff I'm forget... I mean... Minor optimizations and improvements.

Requirements: Lenny's Mod Loader

Installation: Unzip "JustGetTheLootAlready" into the "LML" folder

Conflict Resolution Mods: 1899 guns, immersive environments, realistic loot value rebalancing have all been updated with compatibility patches (if you use these mods make sure to use available compatibility patches!)

PS- If you open the "lootconfigdata.meta" and "carryconfigdata.meta" files using notepad, the speed rate adjustment is at the top. You will see something like "default=10" on two separate lines, you can lower it if needed. Just make sure they all match. The second is the object you interact with (animal, corpse, etc.).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
