Gunsmith Business
🎯 Module introduction
The Gunsmith Business mod lets you buy and run your own gun shop in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2! Experience all the joys of owning your own shop: run supply deliveries, fend off bandit attacks, keep an eye on your shop's reputation, set prices and wages, or just let it go and come back regularly to collect your profits!
🏪 Start business
After installing the mod, you can purchase gun shops in the following locations: Valentine, Annesburg, Saint Denis, Rhodes, and Tumbleweed. After saving enough money, go to the location of your choice and buy a store (note: you can only own one store at a time).
When you enter the purchased firearms store, the business interface will be displayed in the upper right corner:
- Top number: your regular funds at that location
- Middle number: store budget (generated by the store and used to cover daily expenses)
- Progress bar: current inventory status (red means the inventory is empty)
📦 Supply system
To order supplies, enter the "Supplies->Order Supplies" menu to select a supplier:
A random supply wagon icon will appear on the map, go to that location and drive the wagon back to your gun shop. Note: Depending on the store's reputation, you may encounter enemy attacks on the road!
💼 Store Management
After successfully delivering supplies, your inventory is replenished, and you're ready to open your store! Just click the "Open Store" button and hold down the prompt (you cannot open a store when the inventory is zero).
In the Admin tab, you can adjust product prices and employee wages (note: these settings affect store reputation and sales rate!). Starting from version 0.3.1, the sales rate also depends on the store location. Stores in urban areas (such as Saint Denis) will sell faster than stores in remote areas (such as Tumbleweed).
⚙️ Upgrades and Inventory Limitations
Inventory limits have been introduced since version 0.2.5, and inventory capacity can be expanded through the corresponding options in the upgrade menu. There are multiple tiers of storage upgrades to provide you with long-term goals.
Version 0.3.1 adds more upgrade options:
- **Accommodation Upgrade**: Unlock a hotel room connected to the gun shop (Tumbleweed and Annesburg only)
- **EXTENDED OPEN**: Make gun shops accessible during non-working hours (midnight to 6am)
- **Carriage upgrade**: Provide players with a private carriage, which will be used for export missions later.
📊 Detailed explanation of the interface
**Reputation System**: Similar to the honor system, providing a variety of products, reasonable pricing, and treating employees well will increase reputation, and vice versa will decrease it.
**Information Panel**: Displays all manageable information, including daily expenses, salary settings, price settings, etc.
**Inventory Area**: In addition to the current inventory, other content is still under development.
📈 Influencing factors
The following variables affect inventory sales and replenishment:
- Current reputation level
- Employee salary levels
- Product pricing strategy
- Diversity of product categories
⚙️ Configuration file
Starting from version 0.2.5, the module includes a complete INI configuration file, allowing you to fully customize parameters such as weapon price, multiplier, etc.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
