🎉 Welcome to

🌟 Introduction

This time I didn't want to simply recreate an existing horse breed, but wanted to create something **completely new** - a **whole new breed of horse**!

To accomplish this goal, I decided to get my **community** involved. Through a three-part event on the Discord server, we let the community choose a starting bloodline, add bloodlines, and finally decide on a breed name. I then set out to create the model and customize the coat color.

This is how we developed the **French Spotted Draft Horse**!

🎁Mod content

This mod is divided into different **sections** (or packs) based on the patterns, dilutions and modifier genes that may appear in the breed.

"**Leopard Spots**" also form a macro section and can be downloaded together in **Miscellaneous**.

The files are numbered to follow the order of the sections in the picture.

🐎 French spotted draft horse

General description

The French-Italian Spotted Draft Horse is a recently developed breed. Combining the strength of the Ardennes, the ancient Etruscan blood of the Maremano and the colors of the Knabstruber creates a powerful and elegant horse. This horse is extremely tough and versatile and is especially appreciated for its spotted coat color. Breeders aimed to create a light draft horse that looked strong but was adaptable to any task, and that was easy to keep. With this philosophy in mind, many Ardennes mares were bred to Maremano stallions. After the first generation of foals were born, the Knabstruber bloodline was added for the sole reason of bringing speckled color into the breed and giving it a more "warm-blooded" conformation. The breed was immediately recognized as the "French-Italian Spotted Draft Horse" ("French-Italian" from the Ardennes bloodline, "Italian" from the Maremano, and "Spotted" from Knabstruber).

Body structure

Usually the height at the withers is between 1.55 and 1.65 meters (15.2-16.2 hands), and the weight is about 500 kilograms. The conformation is a perfect balance of Warmblood and Draft Horse conformation: the body is muscular and lean, and the legs are short but powerful, ending in well-formed, strong hooves. There is always fur trim. The head is large and the forehead is relatively narrow. The outline is always straight or slightly concave. The ears are small and long. The neck is very thick, strong and well connected to the short chest. The back is naturally slightly arched due to the pronounced withers. Tail set low.

color

Can come in many colors. The most common are bay, seal brown, mottled, leopard spotted and black. The chestnut base color is rare due to the influence of Maremano stallions, which are never chestnut in color. Can also be deerskin or very rarely palomino, but pearly individuals are especially rare. Cream is the rarest color of the breed, closely followed by silver brindle. Pangarei and flaxen features are also present, although both are quite uncommon. It is never gray, champagne, or any other piebald pattern except for leopard spots. Never shows wide facial markings and almost never has socks.

Character and purpose

Usually calm and social, can also be very intelligent and independent. Due to its incredible resistance to hunger and thirst, inherited characteristics of the Maremano, it is easy to raise. Due to its incredible stability and personality, it is the perfect horse for almost any task and excels at light draft work. It can also be a good companion for long journeys. In the United States, it is widely used as a saddle horse, but is also used for farm and cattle work.

⚙️ Installation method

To make this mod work you will need the following tools:

  • Script Hook
  • Lenny's Mod Loader
  • Asi Loader

Carefully follow the installation instructions for each too …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
