Disable halos and vignetting
Tired of that lingering hazy halo and vignetting effect at the edges of the screen in Red Dead Redemption 2? This mod is for you! 🎮
✨ Module function
This module completely removes two post-processing effects built into the game:
- **Halo Effect**: Eliminate excessive glow and blur on the edges of objects, making the picture clearer and sharper.
- **Vignetting Effect**: Removes the darkening effect at the four corners of the screen to make the field of view wider and brighter.
In this way, the game world will take on a more realistic and clear original look!
🔧 How it works
The module disables the effect by modifying the game files:
- **Modified files**: All files located in the `update_1.rpf/common/data/timecycle/` directory.
- **Key parameters**: Set all relevant values of `postfx_bloom_fog_mod_intensity`, `postfx_intensity_bloom` and `postfx_vignette_intensity` to **0** for a total of 1050 lines of code.
💡 **Tips**: After removing the "cheap" glow that comes with the game, if you still like a certain glow style, you are free to use **ReShade** or **Nvidia Game Filter** to add higher quality and more controllable post-effects!

📥 Installation Guide
Please perform the following steps in order:
- **Install Script Hook RDR2**: Actually only the `dinput8.dll` file is needed.
- **Install Lenny's Mod Loader RDR**: Copy the contents of the "ModLoader" folder to the game root directory. (The latest version is Beta 11)
- Copy the `disable_bloom_and_vignette` folder of this module to the `Red Dead Redemption 2\lml\` directory.
- Run the game and the module will automatically take effect! ✅
🗑️ Uninstall method
Uninstalling is just as easy, just choose one of the following:
- Delete the `disable_bloom_and_vignette` folder directly from the `Red Dead Redemption 2\lml\` directory.
- Alternatively, use the `ModManager.UI.exe` application that comes with **Lenny's Mod Loader** to enable or disable mods.

Enjoy a Western world without redundant filters and with cleaner and more pure images! 🤠
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
