Customize first-person and aiming field of view angles

🎯 Module Introduction

This mod allows you to customize the first-person field of view (FOV) of Red Dead Redemption 2, including when aiming your weapon! The default setting increases the first-person FOV to 105 (horizontal) / 73 (vertical), and the FOV when aiming remains the same as when not aiming.

It has a similar function to another module **Custom First Person FOV**, but the key improvement of this module is that it also increases the FOV when aiming, while the original module deliberately maintains the same aiming FOV as the basic setting of the game.

📦 Prerequisites

Before installation, please make sure the following necessary modules are installed:

  • **Lenny's Mod Loader** - Made by LMS
  • **Custom First Person FOV** - produced by vStar925
  • **IronSight (1st person gun FOV fix)** - by wickedhorseman

---

⚙️ Installation Guide

**IMPORTANT**: This mod must be installed after installing **Custom First Person FOV** and **IronSight**.

  • Unzip the downloaded compressed package.
  • Drag the `lml` folder to your Red Dead Redemption 2 game root directory.
  • When prompted to overwrite 2 files, select "Yes" to allow overwriting.
  • The installation is complete!

🔧 Custom configuration

If you are not satisfied with the default 105 (horizontal) FOV, you can modify it by following the steps below (Notepad++ is recommended):

  • **Modify basic FOV**:
  • Open the file `lml\Custom First Person FOV\data\cameras.ymt`.
  • Jump to line **19447**.
  • Change the value `73` (which is the vertical FOV) to the value you want.
  • **Synchronized Weapon FOV**:
  • Open the file `lml\WickedHorseMan\Gameplay\IronSight\firstperson.meta`.
  • Use `Ctrl+F` to turn on the find and replace function.
  • Enter: `73` in the "Find" box.
  • In the "Replace" box enter: **The same value you set in the previous step**.
  • Click Replace All.
  • **(Since version 1.2)** Repeat this replacement for all other `.meta` files under the `IronSight` folder.
  • Save all modified files and then start the game to take effect.

---

💡 For players who love to play

In the `cameras.ymt` and `firstperson.meta` files, you can also find more parameters that can be adjusted, such as FOV in different postures (standing, crouching), FOV offset when aiming, and even the model position of each weapon in first person!

Adjusting these values can take a while, but it's worth it for players looking for the ultimate in customization.

  • Customized `cameras.ymt` file from **Custom First Person FOV** - made by **vStar925**.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
