Welcome the Chincoteague ponies to Red Dead Redemption 2! This is an iconic wild pony breed from Assateague Island. These small but powerful ponies are well adapted to the island environment and may have been living there since the 16th or 17th century.
📚 Cultural background
These horses are made famous in the novels "The Mist of Chincoteague" and "Storm, the Pony of the Mist," based on the real-life ponies of the same name! There are also Breyer models based on them! These books were some of my favorite reads growing up and I thought it would be a great idea to make these ponies.
