Bleriot IX
✈️ Historical background
The Bleriot IX aircraft was based on Louis Bleriot's previous design, the Bleriot VIII (built in 1908). This successful aircraft enabled him to achieve the first round-trip flight between cities in the history of aviation:
- October 31, 1908, two completed flights of 13 kilometers between Toury and Artenay
- Based on this success, Bleriot invested 400,000 francs of his own money to build his three subsequent models: Bleriot IX, X and XI
🛠️ Design features
Bleriot IX adopts the design principles of Bleriot VIII:
- Mid-wing monoplane configuration
- Streamlined quadrilateral body
- Penaud type tail wing
- Four-blade aluminum propeller
The fuselage was lengthened (the Bleriot VIII was 7.5 meters long, while the Bleriot IX was 12 meters long), and most importantly, the new model benefited from a significant increase in power thanks to the 50-horsepower 16-cylinder Antoinette engine.
🔧 Technical details
This engine has an impressive cooling system consisting of four tubular radiators:
- Two horizontally mounted at the tail
- Two mounted vertically in the nose gear frame
This increase in size and power has also resulted in a significant increase in weight (the Bleriot IX weighs 480kg).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
