Better Nights Vanilla Days
🌙Module introduction
Have you ever felt like the nights in Red Dead Redemption 2 looked like recolored daylights, completely ruining the nighttime immersion? This mod is specifically designed to solve this problem! It really gives the night the atmosphere it deserves while keeping the day completely pristine, giving you a more realistic day and night experience in the game.
⏰ Action time
This mod will only change the weather effects between 10pm and 2am, leaving the rest of the day completely original. So you will only notice changes during these 4 hours and will not affect your gaming experience during the day.
🎨 Visual effects improvements
- **Sunny Weather** (Sunny, High Pressure, Cloudy): The biggest change, the sky now has the black color common in rural areas, the saturation is slightly reduced, and the environment feels like it is lit by moonlight instead of sunlight
- **Rainy days, thunderstorms, hurricanes**: slight adjustments to slightly improve immersion
- **Cloudy**: Huge improvement to make it more in line with the feel of night
- **Snow**: Nights remain the same, except for a slight darkening from ground-level snowstorms
- **Vignette Effect**: The vignette effect in all weather has been removed
- **Weather Cycle**: The weather cycle time has been extended to make each type of weather last longer

📷 Screenshot description
All screenshots were taken around midnight, and poor compression makes the actual in-game effects look darker than the screenshots. I made sure not to make it too dark and recommend trying it yourself if unsure, pictures don't do justice to what it will look like in the actual game.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
